A Sneak Peek Inside The Taste Lab’s New State-of-the-Art Kitchen

TheTasteLab by Classic Fine Foods opened back in 2016 as a place for chefs to meet, share their experiences and learn in a relaxed, yet highly professional environment.

We offer an exciting program of Pastry and Cuisine classes and a variety of events including training courses, workshops, demos and culinary journeys led by the best chefs from around the world or our in-house Pastry Chef, Denis Dramé MCA.

After an incredible 8 years in East Acton, London, TheTasteLab closed its doors temporarily in the summer to move to a new home. We’re thrilled to announce that TheTasteLab is coming back bigger and better for 2025!

Our new TheTasteLab will be more modern, and spacious and is designed to elevate your culinary experiences even further. We can’t wait to welcome you to our new location and continue creating magic together.

Q&A with Denis Dramé MCA, Pastry Chef at TheTasteLab by Classic Fine Foods.

Are you excited about the re-launch of TheTasteLab London?

Yes, it has been long overdue! TheTasteLab is returning very soon, in time to restart courses in the new year. As well as a new home for TheTasteLab London, we’ve also updated our website. Chefs will now be able to book and pay for courses directly on the site!

Can you tell us what Chefs can expect from the new space?

The idea of the new TheTasteLab is to bring you a better facility in terms of space, it’s much bigger with the addition of a cuisine kitchen and a Lounge bar. We will be able to hold Pastry classes, Chef’s table, and Cuisine demos, all at the same time. We are proud to offer Chefs a purpose-built teaching kitchen with all the best equipment where they can hone their skills, learn new techniques and stimulate their creativity.

With the new facilities, the team will grow. Recruitment is ongoing and I will introduce you to the team in due course.

What are you most proud of with the new TheTasteLab?

The new TheTasteLab will be home to the Bocuse d’Or UK and Pastry Team UK. The teams will be using our state-of-the-art facilities and kitchens to practice and prepare for European and World competitions.

We are very proud to sponsor the teams, not just in ingredients but to offer a place where they can call home and practice with peace of mind anytime they want to.

When will TheTasteLab be ready for classes?

I am glad to confirm classes will start on February 17th, 2025. There will be a mix of Savoury and Pastry courses. These will vary from one, two or three-day courses, that will be delivered by guest chefs, Partner Chefs, and the team at TheTasteLab.

Are there any other new courses coming to TheTasteLab?

Yes, another new addition to the courses will be a Chef’s Academy Program for young Chefs. This program will train and develop young Chefs alongside their Executive Chefs and Pastry Chefs. More details will follow soon on the Chef’s Academy Program.

I am looking forward to welcoming many new and returning Chefs, Pastry Chefs, and front-of-house staff at TheTasteLab and working with them to ensure the health of our beloved hospitality industry!

What are some of the new website features?

With the new website, you will be able to book and pay for courses directly on the site. Chefs will know straight away if they’ve got a place on the course and have their own account to make it easier for future bookings. Online bookings will also work for any events that we’re hosting!

The new site will feature a blog with the latest news from TheTasteLab and recipes from myself and some of the world’s greatest chefs who run the courses. You will also discover a new gallery feature with pictures and videos from all our courses and events.

We are thrilled to embark on this exciting new chapter with you at TheTasteLab by Classic Fine Foods. With our state-of-the-art facilities, expanded course offerings, and an upgraded online experience, we’re ready to continue inspiring and shaping the future of the culinary world.
