Tai Wei Loon, Asian and World Pastry Champion
Chef Tan Wei Loon, celebrated as the 2019 World Pastry Champion (Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie) and a two-time Asian Pastry Champion (2014, 2018), is a leading force in the global pastry scene. Currently the Director of Pastry Studies at APCA Malaysia, Chef Tan has proudly represented Malaysia in elite international pastry competitions, showcasing an unmatched expertise in modern French pastry, intricate sugar art, advanced airbrushing, chocolate sculptures, and fine praline making.
Coaching the Malaysian National Team
Beyond his own achievements, including a prestigious 4th place finish at the 2015 Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, Chef Tan also played a pivotal role in elevating Malaysia’s pastry prowess by coaching the Malaysian National Team to success at the 2017 Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie in Lyon.
Founding his own dessert brand, Enchanté
In 2019, Chef Tan founded Enchanté, a premier dessert brand embodying his philosophy of “quality over quantity.” With a refined blend of European pastry techniques and local flavour inspirations, Chef Tan has redefined dessert excellence in Malaysia, setting new standards for quality and taste.
